If you fly into Fort Worth, TX, you may choose from the following airports: Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW), and Dallas Love Field Airport (LUV). DFW is closer to the conference hotel and is approximately a 20 minute drive. Transportation options include:

All conference sessions will take place at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel located at 1300 Houston Street across from the Fort Worth Water Gardens. Recently constructed in 2009 near the heart of downtown Fort Worth and Sundance Square, the upscale hotel has an understated elegant western theme with native stone and hardwood decors. It boasts rooftop gardens, the Cast Iron Restaurant, Bob’s Steak and Chop House, the spacious Whisky and Rye bar, and the Wine Thief wine bar. The SHA has reserved a limited numbers of rooms for the conference at a rate of $139.00 per night (plus tax) for single or double occupancy. This rate will be available from December 31 to January 8, 2017 and will expire if not booked before December 9, 2016.

Registration will open on Monday, October 3, 2016. Advance registration rates will be available until Friday, December 2, 2016. After December 2, registration rates will increase. Preregistration will close at 5:00 p.m. PST on Monday, December 19, 2016. On-site registration will be available beginning Tuesday, January 3, 2017 in Fort Worth.

All registration refund requests must be received in writing by the SHA and postmarked no later than December 9, 2016. You will be refunded fees paid minus a $50 processing fee. No refunds will be given after December 9, 2016. Please note this Cancellation Policy applies in all circumstances (including medical) and as such we strongly recommend all registrants ensure they have purchased sufficient and appropriate travel insurance coverage Refund requests should be emailed to the SHA at email@example.com or mailed to the address in the preceding paragraph.
Student volunteers are essential to the smooth operation of every SHA Conference. The SHA is looking for student volunteers to give eight hours of their time during the SHA 2017 Conference in exchange for free conference registration. If you are a student and would like to volunteer your time and earn the opportunity to attend the SHA 2017 Conference at no charge, complete the Student Volunteer form and return it with your Conference Registration Form to the SHA by December 1, 2016.

For five decades the SHA has been at the forefront in the dissemination of scholarly research on historical archaeology in North America and beyond.
