The Ithaca College Department of Anthropology invites applications for a full time, tenure-eligible Assistant Professor position in archaeology effective August 15, 2017. The position involves: teaching undergraduate courses in archaeology appropriate to the candidate’s expertise and the department’s needs, including a methods class; supervising field experiences;conducting and publishing research; and participating in service to the department, campus, community, and profession.   Preference will be given to candidates with a holistic and integrative approach to teaching and research.   
 
Requirements: PhD in hand at time of appointment, demonstrated excellence in teaching, an active program of research that will involve undergraduates, experience working with diverse populations, and an enthusiasm for working effectively and collegially with faculty, staff, and students.  Geographic area of specialization is open, with preference for areas outside of South America. Topical specialization is open, though candidates with demonstrated experience in environmental and climatic applications of archaeology or modern technological applications, such as GIS, remote sensing, or bone chemistry, are particularly attractive.
