What You’ll Do:
- Business Development: Drive growth by cultivating new and existing client relationships in Cultural Resources and Archaeology sectors.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Inspire and develop a talented team of Senior Archaeologists, Cultural Resources specialists and technical staff.
- Strategic Oversight: Collaborate with senior leadership on business planning, financial performance, and marketing initiatives.
- Project Management: Oversee large-scale cultural resources projects and on-call contracts with precision and professionalism.
What We’re Looking For in our Cultural Resources Group Manager:
-Master’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, History, or related field-Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA)
-15+ years in Cultural Resources consulting that includes preparation of proposals and archaeological studies/reports and experience with agency consultation/coordination
-A successful track record in business development in California, with proven sales generation and client relationships -Knowledge of the federal and California laws and regulations pertaining to historic and archaeological resource management and an understanding of regulatory agency programs, procedures, and policies related to cultural resource management, including CEQA, NEPA, and NHPA (Section 106)
-Experience with Northern California prehistoric and historic archaeology
-Experience preparing Class/Phase I, II, and III archaeological surveys, analyses, and documentation requirements
-Experience coordinating with local Tribal representatives, resulting in positive Tribal relationships
-Strong leadership, communication, and client relationship skills

Compensation:
Competitive salary $140,000–$170,000, plus bonuses, ESOP participation, 401(k) with

The Department of Anthropology at East Carolina University (http://www.ecu.edu ) seeks to fill a tenure-track position (9-month appointment) at the rank of Assistant Professor specializing in the archaeology of the Southeastern United States, with an emphasis on coastal regions to begin August 2026.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate archaeology courses and grow an active research program in the archaeology of prehistoric, contact, or historic populations in the region, particularly one that delves into the social, ecological, political, and cultural implications of living in a coastal environment. The successful candidate will provide leadership within the Phelps Archaeology Laboratory, with responsibilities for collections oversight and compliance with the Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA). The faculty member is expected to contribute to the success of the BA in Anthropology, the MA in Anthropology, the CRM Certificate, and the PhD in Integrated Coastal Studies.

Minimum Education/Experience
Ph.D. in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related field at the time of appointment. ABD candidates may be considered, however, the Ph.D. must be conferred prior to the first reappointment. Initial appointment will be at the probationary-term rank of Assistant Professor. Qualifying degrees must be earned from appropriately accredited institutions. Candidates must demonstrate expertise in the archaeology of the Southeastern United States, provide evidence of effective teaching and mentoring, and research.
