Job Information Aspen Environmental Group (Aspen) is seeking a highly motivated Senior Cultural Resources Specialist in our Agoura Hills corporate headquarters (Southern California).

Required Education and Experience
• An M.A. or a Ph.D. in archaeology.
• Minimum of 6 years of supervisory or management experience in California CRM.
• RPA certification preferred.
• Expertise in California archaeology, and extensive understanding of CEQA, Assembly Bill 52, NEPA, and Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. Familiarity with U.S. Forest Service Programmatic Agreements, Bureau of Land Management Manuals.
• Caltrans standards and requirements related to cultural resources would be a plus.
• Experience working with southern California Native American tribal members is a plus.
Responsibilities May Include
• Manage and further develop a number of cultural resource projects.
• Manage cultural/tribal/paleontological resources tasks in coordination with Aspen Project Managers.
• Manage, supervise, and direct archaeological surveys, site testing and prepare resource evaluation documents.
• Control and track numerous project and task budgets and delivery schedules with high accuracy.
• Prepare c7ultural and/or tribal cultural sections of environmental documents, technical reports, and other compliance and recommendation documents.
• Conduct Native American consultation support services.
• Participate in marketing and proposal preparation activities.
Qualifications for Success
• Exceptional technical writing skills are absolutely required with high standards for quality written products, including attention to detail.
• Candidates must have a strong work ethic and be highly motivated.
• Highly developed organizational skills with attention to both the big picture and attention to detail are a necessity to meet competing deadlines and demands.
• Comfortable in communicating with a geographically dispersed staff.
• The candidate would also enjoy conducting site visits in remote or challenging physical environments on occasion.
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required; strong GIS experience and MS Project are beneficial.
