Historical Archeologist – New Orleans, Louisiana
R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates, Inc. has an opening for a Historical Archeologist with a primary expertise in the historical archeology of North America. The successful candidate for this position must possess a graduate degree (M.A., M.S. or Ph.D.) in Anthropology/Archeology, have completed an accredited archeological field school, and have worked in the field of CRM or have served in a similar capacity for at least one year. This position requires superior field, lab and interpersonal skills; computer, writing, and management skills; experience with report writing including the results of archeological field projects; and applied knowledge of Section 106 of the NHPA. Opportunities for advancement to significant management responsibilities are available for the right candidate. Extensive knowledge of 18th through 20th century material culture is strongly preferred, and experience in urban historic archeology is essential. Previous meaningful involvement in the urban archeology of the Southeastern U.S. is desirable.
