Deputy Director – Maryland Archaeological Conservation Lab
The Maryland Archaeological Conservation Laboratory is the state curation,
conservation and research facility for the State of Maryland and is located
at Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum in St. Leonard, Maryland. The Deputy
Director will assist the Director of the MAC Lab in administering the
Research, Conservation and Collections management programs in support of
the agency’s mission to preserve and interpret the legacy of Maryland’s
past. The Deputy Director will direct the archaeological programs of
Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum (JPPM) and the Southern Maryland
Regional Center, an entity based at JPPM that provides local assistance on
archaeological and historical matters. The Deputy Director is responsible
for JPPM’s archaeological research and public archaeology, the MAC Lab’s
community engagement efforts, coordinating the curation and archiving of
the MAC Lab collections, and consulting with cultural resource managers in
Calvert, St. Mary’s, and Charles Counties. The position also coordinates
with other JPPM staff to integrate research results with other programs,
