Virtual Workshop on Preventing Sexual Harassment at Field Schools

The SEAC Sexual Harassment and Assault Reduction and Prevention Committee is pleased to announcement two virtual workshops. You do not need to be a SEAC member to register and attend.

The first workshop, scheduled for Wednesday, April 20th from 10:00 – 11:30 am EST (9:00 – 10:30 am CST), is designed for students who will be taking on a supervisory role at a field school season (this season or future seasons). During the workshop we will discuss ways that student supervisors can help support a learning and research environment that is safe and inclusive for participants. We will also provide a safe space for students to ask questions. This session is only for students. Non-SEAC members are welcome to attend the workshop. Register for the workshop here.

The second workshop, scheduled for Wednesday, April 27th from 10:00 – 11:30 am EST (9:00 – 10:30 am CST), is designed for field school directors (this season of future seasons). For this workshop, we will discuss how directors can structure their field schools to help students feel comfortable reporting instances of sexual harassment and to support students through a report and investigation. We will also provide a safe space for field directors to ask questions. This session is for field school directors only. Non-SEAC members are welcome to attend the workshop. Register for the workshop here.
