SHA/APTC Solo Diners Program Announcement
The Society for Historical Archaeology's Academic and Professional Training Committee (APTC) is pleased to announce a new, casual dinner program, beginning at the upcoming 2019 SHA conference in St. Charles, MO.
The SHA Solo Diners Program is an informal, daily evening program wherein individual SHA Conference attendees who find themselves on their own for dinner can meet at a predetermined location and time in order to go out to dinner in small groups. The program will run each evening, Thursday through Saturday (Jan 10-12, 2019).
There is no requirement to preregister for the program; anyone who would like to attend on a given night must only show up at the designated location at the given time. APTC committee member volunteers will serve as “hosts” each evening to aid in grouping participants, suggesting restaurants, suggesting transportation (necessary in St. Charles) and accompanying participants to dinner. We promise that there will always be someone looking forward to dining with you.
The APTC especially encourages first time attendees to participate, but even for seasoned SHA conference-goers, this program is a great way to meet new people.
We will meet each evening at 6:30. Stayed tuned for the specific meeting place for the 2019 SHA conference in St. Charles, MO. If you have any questions, please contact Alicia Caporaso (Alicia.caporaso@gmail.com).
