We are currently seeking students to compete in the 2020 SHA Student Ethics Bowl.  Please help us spread the word by distributing the attached flyer!

The 2020 SHA Student Ethics Bowl (Bowl) will take place at the annual conference in Boston on Thursday, January 9th from 1 to 4:30 pm. This fun and challenging event is hosted by the Student Subcommittee of the Academic and Professional Training Committee and offers some fantastic prizes, including a $750 cash prize generously provided by the Register for Professional Archaeologists for the winning team and, for the first time this year, a special audience participation prize! If you are an undergraduate or graduate student who will be attending the 2020 conference, we strongly encourage you to consider participating.  Non-students are also encouraged to attend the Bowl as audience members.

Students may sign up as school teams of 3 to 4 students or as individuals who wish to be assigned to teams.  Participants will receive a list of possible “case studies” two weeks before the conference.  During the Bowl, case studies are chosen randomly, and teams of terrestrial and underwater archaeology students debate possible solutions to these real-world ethical scenarios before a panel of judges.  See the attached flyer for more details.
