A Few SHA 2024 Conferene Reminders

Dear SHA Members,

The SHA 2024 Conference on Historical and Underwater Archaeology will be held January 3-6, 2024 at the Oakland Marriott City Center in Oakland, California.  Registration is open online at https://www.conftool.com/sha2024 until Friday, December 15, 2023.  After December 15, all registrations must be done onsite in Oakland.

To make your reservation at the Marriott Oakland City Center, please use the following link: https://book.passkey.com/gt/219032744?gtid=ea367ffccdc6e86e263102f03d3f1bd2  The SHA room block closes on December 11, 2023.  After that date, the hotel cannot guarantee that you will be able to book a room at the conference rate of $159.00.  Please don't delay in making your reservation at the hotel.

There is still space available for a number of conference tours, workshops, and Roundtable Luncheons, as well as the Oakland Museum Reception and the Awards Banquet.  Sign up today!

On Friday, January 5, 2024, we will hold a Job Fair from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Cal State University East Bay Campus building across the street from the Marriott Oakland City Center.  If you are an employer interested in having a table at the Job Fair, please contact SHA Headquarters at hq@sha.org for information by December 5, 2023. 

And on Saturday, January 6, 2024, Public Archaeology Day will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., again at the Cal State University East Bay Campus.  The focus of the 2024 Public Archaeology Day is "The Foodways Experience: A Student-Constructed Pop Up Exhibit."  Stop by and enjoy some tamales!  Photo IDs will be required for entrance.
