Important Deadlines This Week!
Posted On: 10/26/2020
Dear SHA Members,
The last week of October is always a busy time for the Society for Historical Archaeology, and there are three important deadlines for you to keep in mind.
- The SHA workshop, "Antiracism, Equity and Inclusion and SHA" will be this coming Friday, October 30, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. EDT. The workshop will be led by Dr. Jennifer Stollman, world-renowned equity consultant specializing in building and sustaining inclusive workplaces and educational spaces. Registration for this workshop closes on Wednesday, October 28. Please return your completed registration form to hq@sha.org. A fillable pdf of the registration form is attached to this email.
- Voting in the SHA/ACUA 2020 elections closes at midnight on Saturday, October 31, 2020. All current SHA members should have received an email with a link to their ballot. Several "reminder" emails have been sent to members over the past month, so if you have not received an email with your ballot link, please contact SHA Headquarters at hq@sha.org, and we'll troubleshoot the problem and make sure that you have the opportunity to vote. A number of the races are extremely close, so your vote counts. Please take a minute to cast your vote today.
- The registration deadline for presenters at the SHA 2021 Virtual Conference is Sunday, November 1, 2020. If you are presenting a paper or poster at the conference or participating in a forum, you must register by November 1 or you will be dropped from the conference program. Please register at www.conftool.com/sha2021. If you would like to view the 2021 Conference program, the link is right above the green "Account Login" bar at www.conftool.com/sha2021.
Finally, if you are experiencing financial difficulty as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and
would like to attend the SHA conference, please contact SHA Headquarters at hq@sha.org
to discuss how we may be able to facilitate your conference participation.
If you have questions on any of these deadlines or require assistance, please send an email to hq@sha.org, and we'll be glad to help.
