Continued Funding of the Historic Preservation Fund

Fellow historical archaeologists,

Congress is now working on the budget for the next fiscal year.  One of the key issues for archaeologists is the continued funding of the Historic Preservation Fund (HPF).  For those of you not familiar with HPF, it is the principal source of funding for all of our SHPOs and THPOs (among other things).  Please take a moment to contact your Senators and ask them to sign on to the bipartisan letter now being circulated by Senators Cassidy (R-LA) and Gillibrand (D-NY) requesting continuing funding for HPF.  The deadline for senators to sign on to this letter is this Friday.  If you would like more information on what HPF covers or information on how to contact your Senators please go  the link below from the Coalition for American Heritage.
