Archaeology in the Community to Receive 2024 Daniel G. Roberts Award for Excellence in Public Historical Archaeology
Dear SHA Members,
We are pleased to announce that Archaeology in the Community has been selected to receive the Daniel G. Roberts Award for Excellence in Public Historical Archaeology at the SHA 2024 Conference in Oakland, California.
Founded in 2009 by Dr. Alexandra Jones, Archaeology in the Community promotes and facilitates the study and public understanding of archaeological heritage through hands-on learning, professional development, and community events. Since its founding, AITC has served thousands of students of all ages, customizing curricula to best suit the needs of the group and expanding into new media to ensure the public can engage with archaeology.
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Jones and the Archaeology in the Community team.
With best regards,
J.W. Joseph
