Their capabilities include archaeological and cultural resource assessments (terrestrial and underwater), natural resource assessment, and management.LG2 has an immediate opening for an Archaeological Field Director.LG2 Environmental Solutions (LG2ES) in Jacksonville, Florida is hiring an Archaeological Field Director with the ability to conduct field investigations for a variety of federal, state, and local agency clients, as well as private organizations. Projects may be located throughout the United States or the Caribbean, with a majority currently in the Southeast and Southwest regions. Full-Time Salary or Part-Time Hourly position is available. Duties of the Archaeological Field Director will include the implementation of research designs, work plans, schedules, and fieldwork for survey, site evaluation, and site mitigation, assisted by a team of qualified project managers, archaeologists, researchers, and other scientists. Responsibilities of the Archaeological Field Director may include contributing to archaeological or architectural historic analysis and reporting and other duties as assigned. Travel is expected as part of conducting cultural resources fieldwork, but, on average, approximately 35 percent of the year would be spent in a local office or on a local project. In the field, applicants may need to work out of town for extended periods, collect data in extreme climate conditions, be able to lift and move equipment upwards of 30 lbs., and must work well in teams at remote locations.

Applicants Must Have

  • Master’s Degree in Cultural Resources Management, Archaeology, Anthropology, or a closely related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive Cultural Resource Management experience cumulating to supervising projects, with preference given to archaeological projects in the Southeastern U.S. or satisfying the NHPA Section 106 process.
  • Knowledge of fundamental archaeological field and laboratory procedures, including mapping, photography, and collection and handling of artifacts and ensuring that all work and data collected are accurate, organized, and of high quality.
  • Proven ability to maintain favorable crew relations and contribute to a team setting.
  • Excellent management and communication (oral and written) skills.
  • Special consideration will be given to those with experience with NEPA/NHPA/ARPA/NAGPRA state and federal agency and tribal consultation, and an excellent reputation within the professional, regulatory, and/or affected communities.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment with effective time management, multitasking, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Availability to travel and possession of a valid driver’s license.
