SEARCH, a leading nationwide and global provider of cultural resources services to government and commercial customers, is continuously seeking top talent in the cultural resource management industry. As a full service company, SEARCH offers a multidisciplinary integration of our five divisions: Archaeology, Maritime Archaeology, Architectural History, History and Archives, and Heritage Design.
SEARCH has an immediate opening for a full time Project Manager to join our terrestrial division and support Department of Transportation (DOT) projects throughout Florida as well as other general service contracts. Candidates must be detail oriented, organized, and able to work competently on simultaneous tasks while meeting multiple deadlines.
The key responsibilities of this project management role will include:
Manage multi-year contracts for private engineering projects and state agencies
Provide quality control for the technical aspects of research, fieldwork, and report production
Develop and foster client relations
Preparation of deliverables for clients and review agents
Schedule adherence and budget management
Proposal development and contract management
Oversee fieldwork and report production meeting the requirements of Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act, Section 4(f) of the US Department of Transportation Act, and Chapter 267, Florida Statutes
Qualifications:
To perform this position successfully, candidates should possess:
Master’s degree in Anthropology, Historic Preservation or a related field;
Minimum of 10 years of experience in cultural resource management with work and/or educational experience in Florida;
Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, highlighting all specialization in transportation projects;
Demonstrable experience managing multi-year contracts for transportation agencies and/or engineering firms;
Understanding of and experience with Section 4(f) of the Department of Transportation Act;
Superior technical writing ability with government report review/editing experience;
Strong field and outdoors skill sets, and the ability to work in physically demanding environments;
Ability to travel, with a valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation;
Proficiency in MS Office Suite and familiarity with ArcGIS.
The position can be based out of SEARCH’s office in either Orlando or Gainesville, Florida. SEARCH offers a competitive total compensation package with strong health and wellness and retirement plans.
The chosen candidate will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug test and a criminal background check, including DMV. Candidates must be able to obtain government security clearances and need to be eligible to be employed in the United States.
