Description:
The public archeology internship at Fort Pulaski National Monument will provide an opportunity for an interested and motivated individual to develop skills related to the management of archeological resources. The selected individual will work closely with the Park Archeologist to do data recovery excavations at the Worker’s Village site, where the people who built the fort lived and worked. They will gain experience in all stages of the research process: archival research, field work (particularly block excavation), public interpretation, artifact processing, identifying cultural materials, artifact analysis, technical report writing, and curation.
