Description:
The Arkansas Archeological Survey invites applications for a two-year (with possible extension) full-time position as Archeological Assistant to begin as soon as possible. This position is based at our Arkansas State University research station (Jonesboro AR).
Job Description: Duties include field work (requiring in-state travel), collections processing, data analysis, record keeping, and interaction with visitors and callers to the Station, all under the direction of the Research Station Archeologist.
Qualifications: Minimum qualification is a B.A. or B.S. degree in anthropology specializing in archeology; M.A. is preferred along with ability to work independently and meet internal deadlines. Applicant should possess experience mapping using a total station transit, archaeological testing, and excavation. Proficiency using ArcGIS and software related to producing site maps, profiles, etc. is desirable. Attention to details, self-motivation, and flexibility are essential.
Salary: $30,000 with full benefits.
Starting Date: November 2, 2015 or sooner, if possible.
